Our fourth book is Noam Chomsky's "Requiem for the American Dream". Chomsky is a linguist by training, but has spent the last 40 years speaking truth to power, and backing up his points with meticulously documented, and well-sourced research. We'll switch things up this time, and hold the discussion at Martini's On Main (thanks Chad Scott!). As always, if you order the book through Main Street Books, Llalan is offering a 20% discount.
This should be a fun one! If you haven't read Chomsky before, he's a trip. His books are designed to tear down common illusions about the fairness of our society by shedding light on the motives and clandestine string-pulling of the power elite. Also, this book was made into a documentary (same name), which can be viewed on Amazon Prime if you have it. So you don't even technically need to read anything for this one if you don't want to :)
