Since 2007, NECIC has combined data-driven research, assessment-based strategic planning, and compassionate, people-centered solutions to support the community we love. As residents ourselves, we understand the heartbeat of the North End. Our goal is to connect all the right building blocks to build the blocks of our neighborhood. By working together, we will continue to be a leading engine of economic vitality, arts, and positive youth and civic engagement within the city of Mansfield.
Over the next three years, our staffing division, NECIC Staffing, will focus on connecting the building blocks of people and place to expand workforce training programs and assist in removing barriers to employment. We are also committed to supporting small businesses, arts-related businesses, and entrepreneurs in our community.
Every resident deserves safe and affordable housing. By connecting the building blocks of people, place, and community partners, we plan to further reduce blight and increase the supply of safe and affordable homes in the North End.
The children and teenagers of the North End are a vital building block to community revitalization. We offer after school programs offered in partnership with Mansfield City Schools, and the Summer Manufacturing Institute to help students explore art, entrepreneurship, cooking, and more.
When we work together, we are building the blocks of our community together. NECIC offers several programs to address challenges and opportunities within our community:
As a result of our efforts over the last 20 years, the North End in 2028 is a community of significant prosperity and innovation. While in 2008, we were considered a drain on the local economy, today we are the leading engine of economic vitality, arts, and positive youth development and civic engagement within the city of Mansfield.
The North End Community Economic Development Plan is a resident-driven guide and an important building block for all future redevelopment and planning on the North End.
The plan focuses on land use, housing, economic development, education, public infrastructure/transit, community spaces, and health and safety.
