The Board of Directors of the North End Community Improvement Collaborative, Inc. (NECIC) would hold their annual meeting on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at 4:30pm via Zoom.
NECIC’s founder and Executive Director, Deanna West-Torrence and staff will highlight the work of another exciting year. With mission to improve the quality of life for North End residents, NECIC’s asset-based philosophy is a unique approach to engaging residents and community partners in collaborative action to improve economic and social conditions in the North End Community. “This meeting is also our opportunity to say a public thank you to the many people who have supported NECIC throughout the year,” West-Torrence said.
The collective aspirations of the neighborhood in the North End are articulated in the North End Community Economic Development Plan available at: /who-we-are/the-plan. Developed with residents and stakeholders over a two-year period, the plan is NECIC’s guide for all programming and initiatives. With a twenty-year vision of ensuring that the North End is “the leading engine of economic vitality, positive youth development, arts, and civic engagement,” the organization looks forward to presenting its work over the past year at this Annual Meeting as well as laying out future endeavors for 2021.
New initiatives launched in 2020, The Urban Farm, the relocation of the Farmers Market, and Mansfield Microfarm Project, the African American Leadership Initiative (AALI), The Richland County State of the African American Community Report, the Microbusiness Development and Workforce Development Program will be highlighted as well as more longstanding programs.
