Kids ROAR Through Summer

This month we wrapped up our Islay the Summer mini module with Ms. Trai’Shaun Beard. She did an amazing job with the girls, teaching them simple hair and beauty tips. Many of the girls enjoyed us coming to John’s Park and teaching them new skills such as how to apply make-up, how to create hair accessories, and how to braid hair. Many of the girls that we worked with will be going to Mansfield Middle School and Mansfield Senior High, we look forward to seeing them throughout the school year and creating more memories.
 

Saturday, August 5, there were over 20 youth and adults who participated and supported the paintball event at Battle Zone Paintball Park III located at 809 Poth Rd. in Mansfield, OH.



Mentees and Mentors had a great time playing in different battle fields throughout the day. Midway through the day they enjoyed food provided by Pizza Hut. Many of the youth had a great time and expressed interest in doing it again in the future.



It has been a pleasure working with the students both in school and out of school for the 2016/2017 year. I look forward to the 2017/2018 year and all it has to offer the youth. - Nyasha Oden
